I guess this page should be about me. So here goes…
I’m a full-time Husband, Dad, and Developer. I’ve been married long enough to know better, a father long enough to know nothing, and a developer just way too long. I enjoy all these things immensely. Each of these roles is challenging, insightful, delightful, and fulfilling.
I am a proud graduate of Hampton University, from which I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. I also attended Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University. I spent my early career in Pharmaceuticals, building the first electronic territory management system for Merck & Co., Inc. I also spent several more years working at another company doing greenfield sales force automation systems, as well as using Siebel and SalesForce applications. I worked as a contractor doing a myriad of different software Development jobs, including DevOps, Developer, Manager, and Director of Software Development. In 2009, I moved to a FinTech company and worked on several front and back end systems for banks and credit unions. Products included check processing, data warehouse, and web/mobile business applications. I currently work in the transportation industry.
I have a passion for learning and an equal passion for teaching and giving back. I have taught classes on mobile development, given talks at developer conferences, and run a local developers user group.
I am a product of West Philadelphia, although I call Atlanta GA my home. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, scuba diving, gardening, and volunteering at my church as a cameraman and director. I am a member of my county C.E.R.T. team. I am also a NRA certified instructor, specializing in new owner safety instruction.
